Ed Baca’s View of the City of St. George

This election year stands out, in that two council vacancies will be filled with new faces on the council as there are no incumbents running for re-election and we have an opportunity to elect a new mayor.

The importance of electing capable qualified individuals who will build on the success of previous councils and who will recognize the history and traditions of our community has never been more evident.

Having interacted with past and present city council members I have developed an understanding and appreciation of City values and the direction in which the city is moving. I remain committed to working with city staff and elected officials dedicated to the improvement of our city.

A little about Ed Baca the candidate.

On August 26th I will have accumulated 72 years of life experience comprising 50 years of public service, supplemented with a formal education consisting of an AA Degree in Police Science and a BA Degree in Criminal Justice.

I have been employed in City Government as a Police Officer and in County Government as a representative of those unable to care for themselves and as a substitute school teacher at local High Schools.

I have spent the last 10 years attending and actively participating in St. George City Council meetings as a concerned citizen. This practical life experience and education has qualified me to meet the requirements to serve on the St. George City Council.
